But looking at that diagram from Haltech: Port 1: Normally Open Port 2: Common Port 3: Normally Closed The way they have it plumbed: Boost < Set Point: Wastegate connected to atmosphere/vacuum (closed) Boost > Set Point: Wastegate connected to pressure (open) The 'alternate' way you describe: Boost < Set Point: Wastegate connected to vacuum (closed) Boost > Set Point: Wastegate connected to atmosphere (closed) Result of the latter: Infinite boost! which may sound good, but it isn't :)
